I emailed Lowes personally since it was pointed out to me that the date on that Lowes website was 2011.
Here is the response I received. 


“For Earth Day 2011, Lowe’s hosted a Million Tree Giveaway at all stores nationwide. This year we will not be hosting the Million Tree Giveaway. We offer different events and promotions each year for special occasions such as Earth Day.

• 10% off Energy Star Qualified Appliances of $299 or more through April 23rd. This offer is available in store and on Lowes.com. 
• Saturday April 28th we will be hosting a free Build and Grow Clinic where kids will build a Terrarium and learn about plants and watching them grow! You can find more information and register for the Build and Grow Clinic closest to you by visiting LowesBuildandGrow.com.”
